Exodus 28:13 - 28:30
28:13 “And you will make gold filigree settings.
28:14 And you will make two braided chains of pure gold ornamental cord work, and you will put the chains of the ornamental cords on the filigree settings.
28:15 And you will make a breast piece of judgment, a work of a skilled craftsman; you will make it like the work of the ephod; you will make it of gold, blue and purple and crimson yarns, and finely twisted linen.
28:16 It will be squared, doubled, a span its length and a span its width.
28:17 And you will fill it with stone mounting, four rows of stone, a row of carnelian, topaz, and emerald is the first row;
28:18 and the second row is a malachite, a sapphire, and a moonstone;
28:19 and the third row is a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;
28:20 and the fourth row is a turquoise and an onyx and a jasper. Their settings will be woven with gold.
28:21 The stones will be according to the names of the Israelites, twelve according to their names, with seal engravings, each according to its name they will be for the twelve tribes.
28:22 “And you will make on the breast piece braided chains, a work of pure gold ornamental cord.
28:23 And you will make on the breast piece two gold rings, and you will put the two rings on the two edges of the breast piece.
28:24 And you will put the two gold ornamental cords on the two rings on the edges of the breast piece.
28:25 And you will put the two ends of the two ornamental cords on the two filigree settings, and you will put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front of it.
28:26 And you will make two gold rings, and you will place them on the two ends of the breast piece, on its edge that is on the other side of the ephod, to the inside.
28:27 And you will make two rings and put them on the two shoulder pieces of the ephod below at its front near its seam above the waistband of the ephod.
28:28 And they will tie the breast piece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord to be on the waistband of the ephod, and the breast piece will not come loose from the ephod.
28:29 And Aaron will bear the names of the Israelites in the breast piece of judgment on his heart, when he comes to the sanctuary, for a remembrance before Yahweh continually.
28:30 And you will put the Urim and the Thummim on the breast piece of judgment, and they will be on the heart of Aaron when he comes before Yahweh, and Aaron will bear the judgment of the Israelites on his heart before Yahweh continually.

28:13 Make fancy gold settings.
28:14 Make two braided chains out of pure gold. Make them like ropes. Join the chains to the settings.
28:15 The Chest Cloth
“Make a chest cloth that will be used for making decisions. Have a skilled worker make it. Make it like the linen apron. Use fine gold wire, and blue, purple and bright red yarn, and finely twisted linen.
28:16 Make it nine inches square. Fold it in half.
28:17 “Put four rows of valuable jewels on it. Put a ruby, a topaz and a beryl in the first row.
28:18 Put a turquoise, a sapphire and an emerald in the second row.
28:19 Put a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst in the third row.
28:20 And put a chrysolite, an onyx and a jasper in the fourth row. Put them in fancy gold settings.
28:21 “Use a total of 12 stones. Use one for each of the names of the sons of Israel. Each stone must be carved like a seal with the name of one of the 12 tribes.
28:22 “Make braided chains out of pure gold for the chest cloth. Make them like ropes.
28:23 Make two gold rings for the chest cloth. Connect them to two corners of it.
28:24 Join the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the chest cloth.
28:25 Join the other ends of the chains to the two settings. Join them to the shoulder straps on the front of the linen apron.
28:26 “Make two gold rings. Connect them to the other two corners of the chest cloth. Put them on the inside edge next to the apron.
28:27 Make two more gold rings. Connect them to the bottom of the shoulder straps on the front of the apron. Put them close to the seam. Put them right above the waistband of the apron.
28:28 The rings of the chest cloth must be tied to the rings of the apron. Tie them to the waistband with blue cord. Then the chest cloth will not swing out from the linen apron.
28:29 “When Aaron enters the Holy Room, he will carry the names of the sons of Israel over his heart. Their names will be on the chest cloth of decision. They will be a continuing reminder while he is serving me.
28:30 “Also put the Urim and Thummim into the chest cloth. Then they will be over Aaron’s heart when he comes to serve me. In that way, Aaron will always have what he needs to make decisions for the people of Israel. He will carry the Urim and Thummim over his heart while he is serving me.

11:27 Jesus’ Authority Challenged
And they came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came up to him
11:28 and said to him, “By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority that you do these things?”
11:29 So Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
11:30 The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? Answer me!”
11:31 And they began to discuss this with one another, saying, “What should we say? If we say ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’
11:32 But if we say, ‘From men’”—they were afraid of the crowd, because they all looked upon John as truly a prophet.
11:33 And they replied to Jesus saying, “We do not know.” And Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

11:27 The Authority of Jesus Is Questioned
Jesus and his disciples arrived again in Jerusalem. He was walking in the temple courtyards. Then the chief priests came to him. The teachers of the law and the elders came too.
11:28 “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “Who gave you authority to do this?”
11:29 Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
11:30 Was John’s baptism from heaven? Or did it come from men? Tell me!”
11:31 They talked to each other about it. They said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’
11:32 But what if we say, ‘From men’?” They were afraid of the people. Everyone believed that John really was a prophet.
11:33 So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Jesus said, “Then I won’t tell you by what authority I am doing these things either.”
