Exodus 29:38 - 29:46
29:38 “And this is what you shall offer on the altar: Two one-year-old male lambs every day continually.
29:39 The first lamb you will offer in the morning, and the second lamb you will offer at twilight.
29:40 And a tenth of finely milled flour mixed with a fourth of a hin of beaten oil, and a fourth of a hin of wine as a libation with the first lamb.
29:41 And the second lamb you will offer at twilight; you will offer a grain offering and its libation like that of the morning for a fragrance of appeasement, an offering made by fire for Yahweh.
29:42 It will be a burnt offering of continuity throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of assembly before Yahweh, where I will meet with you to speak to you there.
29:43 “And I will meet with the Israelites there, and it will be consecrated by my glory.
29:44 And I will consecrate the tent of assembly and the altar, and Aaron and his sons I will consecrate to serve as priests for me.
29:45 And I will dwell in the midst of the Israelites, and I will be their God.
29:46 And they will know that I am Yahweh, their God, who brought them out from the land of Egypt in order to dwell in their midst. I am Yahweh their God.
NIRV translation
Exodus 29:38 - 29:46
29:38 “Every day offer on the altar two lambs that are a year old.
29:39 Offer one in the morning. Offer the other one when the sun goes down.
29:40 Along with the first lamb, offer eight cups of fine flour. Mix it with a quart of oil that is made from pressed olives. Along with that, offer a quart of wine as a drink offering.
29:41 “Sacrifice the other lamb when the sun goes down. Sacrifice it along with the same grain offering and its drink offering as you do in the morning. It has a pleasant smell. It is an offering that is made to me with fire.
29:42 “For all time to come, the burnt offering must be sacrificed regularly. Sacrifice it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting in my sight. There I will meet you and speak to you.
29:43 There I will also meet with the people of Israel. My glory will make the place holy.
29:44 “So I will set the Tent of Meeting and the altar apart. And I will set Aaron and his sons apart to serve me as priests.
29:45 “Then I will live among the people of Israel. And I will be their God.
29:46 They will know that I am the Lord their God. They will know that I brought them out of Egypt so I could live among them. I am the Lord their God.

Gospel — Mark 12:28 - 12:34
LEB translation
Mark 12:28 - 12:34
12:28 The Greatest Commandment
And one of the scribes came up and heard them debating. When he saw that he answered them well, he asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”
12:29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart and from your whole soul and from your whole mind and from your whole strength.’
12:31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
12:32 And the scribe said to him, “That is true, Teacher. You have said correctly that he is one and there is no other except him.
12:33 And to love him from your whole heart and from your whole understanding and from your whole strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
12:34 And Jesus, when he saw that he had answered thoughtfully, said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And no one dared to put a question to him any longer.

Mark 12:28 - 12:34
12:28 The Most Important Commandment
One of the teachers of the law came and heard the Sadducees arguing. He noticed that Jesus had given the Sadducees a good answer. So he asked him, “Which is the most important of all the commandments?”
12:29 Jesus answered, “Here is the most important one. Moses said, ‘Israel, listen to me. The Lord is our God. The Lord is one.
12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind and with all your strength.’ ()
12:31 And here is the second one. ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ () There is no commandment more important than these.”
12:32 “You have spoken well, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one. There is no other God but him.
12:33 To love God with all your heart and mind and strength is very important. So is loving your neighbor as you love yourself. These things are more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
12:34 Jesus saw that the man had answered wisely. He said to him, “You are not far from God’s kingdom.”
From then on, no one dared to ask Jesus any more questions.
