Exodus 4:18 - 4:31
4:18 Moses Leaves Midian and Returns to Egypt
And Moses went, and he returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and he said to him, “Please let me go, and let me return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and let me see whether they are yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.”
4:19 And Yahweh said to Moses in Midian, “Go, return to Egypt because all the men have died who were seeking your life.”
4:20 And Moses took his wife and his sons and had them ride on the donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt, and Moses took the staff of God in his hand.
4:21 And Yahweh said to Moses, “When you go to return to Egypt, see all of the wonders that I have put in your hand, and do them before Pharaoh, and I myself will harden his heart, and he will not release the people.
4:22 And you must say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “Israel is my son, my firstborn.”
4:23 And I said to you, “Release my son and let him serve me,” but you refused to release him. Look, I am about to kill your son, your firstborn.’”
4:24 And on the way, at the place of overnight lodging, Yahweh encountered him and sought to kill him.
4:25 But Zipporah took a flint knife, and she cut off the foreskin of her son, and she touched his feet, and she said, “Yes, you are a bridegroom of blood to me.”
4:26 And he left him alone. At that time she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.
4:27 And Yahweh said to Aaron, “Go to the desert to meet Moses.” And he went and encountered him at the mountain of God and kissed him.
4:28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of Yahweh, who had sent him—and all the signs that he had commanded him.
4:29 And Moses and Aaron went, and they gathered all of the elders of the Israelites.
4:30 And Aaron spoke all the words that Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and he did the signs before the eyes of the people.
4:31 And the people believed when they heard that Yahweh had attended to the Israelites and that he had seen their misery, and they knelt down and they worshiped.
NIRV translation
Exodus 4:18 - 4:31
4:18 Moses Returns to Egypt
Then Moses went back to his father-in-law Jethro. He said to him, “Let me go back to my own people in Egypt. I want to see if any of them are still alive.”
Jethro said, “Go. I hope everything goes well with you.”
4:19 The Lord had said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt. All of the men who wanted to kill you are dead.”
4:20 So Moses got his wife and sons. He put them on a donkey. Together they started back to Egypt. And he took the wooden staff in his hand. It was the staff God would use in a powerful way.
4:21 The Lord spoke to Moses. He said, “When you return to Egypt, do all of the miracles I have given you the power to do. Do them in the sight of Pharaoh. But I will make his heart stubborn. He will not let the people go.
4:22 “Then say to Pharaoh, ‘The Lord says, “Israel is like an oldest son to me.
4:23 I told you, ‘Let my son go. Then he will be able to worship me.’ But you refused to let him go. So I will kill your oldest son.”’”
4:24 On the way to Egypt, Moses stopped for the night. There the Lord met him and was about to kill him.
4:25 But Zipporah got a knife that was made out of hard stone. She circumcised her son with it. Then she touched Moses’ feet with the skin she had cut off. “You are a husband who has forced me to spill my son’s blood,” she said.
4:26 So the Lord didn’t kill Moses. When she said “husband who has forced me to spill my son’s blood,” she was talking about circumcision.
4:27 The Lord said to Aaron, “Go into the desert to see Moses.” So he greeted Moses at the mountain of God and kissed him.
4:28 Then Moses told Aaron everything the Lord had sent him to say. He also told him about all of the miraculous signs he had commanded him to do.
4:29 Moses and Aaron gathered all of the elders of Israel together.
4:30 Aaron told them everything the Lord had said to Moses. He also did the miracles in the sight of the people.
4:31 And they believed. They heard that the Lord was concerned about them. He had seen their suffering. So they bowed down and worshiped him.

Gospel — Mark 1:40 - 1:45
LEB translation
Mark 1:40 - 1:45
1:40 A Leper Cleansed
And a leper came to him, entreating him and kneeling down, saying to him, “If you are willing, you are able to make me clean.”
1:41 And becoming angry, he stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be made clean.”
1:42 And immediately the leprosy went away from him and he was made clean.
1:43 And warning him sternly, he sent him away at once.
1:44 And he said to him, “See to it that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and bring for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
1:45 But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread abroad the account, so that he was no longer able to enter publicly into a town. But he was staying outside in deserted places, and they were coming to him from all directions.
NIRV translation
Mark 1:40 - 1:45
1:40 Jesus Heals a Man Who Had a Skin Disease
A man who had a skin disease came to Jesus. On his knees he begged Jesus. He said, “If you are willing to make me ‘clean,’ you can do it.”
1:41 Jesus was filled with deep concern. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing to do it,” he said. “Be ‘clean’!”
1:42 Right away the disease left him. He was healed.
1:43 Jesus sent him away at once. He gave the man a strong warning.
1:44 “Don’t tell this to anyone,” he said. “Go and show yourself to the priest. Offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded. It will be a witness to the priest and the people that you are ‘clean.’”
1:45 But the man went out and started talking right away. He spread the news to everyone. So Jesus could no longer enter a town openly. He stayed outside in lonely places. But people still came to him from everywhere.
