Deuteronomy 11:10 - 11:21
11:10 For the fact is that the land that you are about to go into to take possession of it is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come out of, where you sow your seed and you give water by your foot, as in a vegetable garden.
11:11 But the land that you are about to cross into to take possession of it is a land of hills and valleys, and by the rain of the heaven it drinks water,
11:12 a land that Yahweh your God is caring for it; continually the eyes of Yahweh your God are on it, from the beginning of the year up to the end of the year.
11:13 “And it will happen that if you listen carefully to my commandments that I am commanding you today, to love Yahweh your God, and to serve him with all of your heart and with all of your soul,
11:14 then ‘I will send the rain for your land in its season, early rain and later rain, and you will gather your grain and your wine and your olive oil.
11:15 And I will give vegetation in your field for your livestock, and you will eat your fill.’
11:16 Take care so that your heart is not easily deceived, and you turn away, and you serve other gods, and you bow down to them.
11:17 And then the anger of Yahweh will be kindled against you, and he will shut up the heavens, and there shall not be rain, and so the ground will not give its produce, and you will perish quickly from the good land that Yahweh is giving to you.
11:18 “And you shall put these, my words, on your heart and on your inner self, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be as an emblem between your eyes.
11:19 And you shall teach them to your children by talking about them when you sit in your house and when you travel on the road and when you lie down and when you get up.
11:20 And you shall write them on the doorframes of your house and on your gates,
11:21 so that they may multiply your days and the days of your children on the land that Yahweh swore to your ancestors to give it to them as long as heaven endures over the earth.
NIRV translation
Deuteronomy 11:10 - 11:21
11:10 You will enter it and take it over.
It isn’t like the land of Egypt. That’s where you came from. You planted your seeds there. You had to water them, just as you have to water a vegetable garden.
11:11 But you will soon go across the Jordan River. The land you are going to take over has mountains and valleys in it. It drinks rain from heaven.
11:12 It’s a land the Lord your God takes care of. His eyes always look on it with favor. He watches over it from the beginning of the year to its end.
11:13 So be faithful. Obey the commands the Lord your God is giving you today. Love him. Serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
11:14 Then the Lord will send rain on your land at the right time. He’ll send rain in the fall and in the spring. You will be able to gather your grain. You will also be able to make olive oil and fresh wine.
11:15 He’ll provide grass in the fields for your cattle. You will have plenty to eat.
11:16 But be careful. Don’t let anyone tempt you to do something wrong. Don’t turn away and worship other gods. Don’t bow down to them.
11:17 If you do, the Lord’s anger will burn against you. He’ll close up the sky. It won’t rain. The ground won’t produce its crops. Soon you will die. You won’t live to enjoy the good land the Lord is giving you.
11:18 So keep my words in your hearts and minds. Write them down and tie them on your hands as a reminder. Also tie them on your foreheads.
11:19 Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home. Talk about them when you walk along the road. Speak about them when you go to bed. And speak about them when you get up.
11:20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses. Also write them on your gates.
11:21 Then you and your children will live for a long time in the land. The Lord took an oath and promised to give the land to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Your family line will continue as long as the heavens remain above the earth.

Gospel — Acts 7:35 - 7:43
LEB translation
Acts 7:35 - 7:43
7:35 This Moses whom they had repudiated, saying, ‘Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?’—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer with the help of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
7:36 This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and at the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years.
7:37 “This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’
7:38 This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and who with our fathers received living oracles to give to us,
7:39 to whom our fathers were not willing to become obedient, but rejected him and turned back in their hearts to Egypt,
7:40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods who will go on before us! For this Moses, who led us out from the land of Egypt—we do not know what has happened to him!’
7:41 And they manufactured a calf in those days, and offered up a sacrifice to the idol, and began rejoicing in the works of their hands.
7:42 But God turned away and gave them over to worship the host of heaven, just as it is written in the book of the prophets:
‘You did not bring offerings and sacrifices to me
for forty years in the wilderness, did you, house of Israel?
7:43 And you took along the tabernacle of Moloch
and the star of the god Rephan,
the images that you made, to worship them,
and I will deport you beyond Babylon!’
NIRV translation
Acts 7:35 - 7:43
7:35 “This is the same Moses the two men of Israel would not accept. They had said, ‘Who made you ruler and judge?’ But God himself sent Moses to rule the people of Israel and set them free. He spoke to Moses through the angel who had appeared to him in the bush.
7:36 So Moses led them out of Egypt. He did wonders and miraculous signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea, and for 40 years in the desert.
7:37 “This is the same Moses who spoke to the people of Israel. ‘God will send you a prophet,’ he said. ‘He will be like me. He will come from your own people.’ ()
7:38 Moses was with the Israelites in the desert. He was with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai. Moses was with our people of long ago. He received living words to pass on to us.
7:39 “But our people refused to obey Moses. They would not accept him. In their hearts, they wished they were back in Egypt.
7:40 They told Aaron, ‘Make us a god who will lead us. This fellow Moses led us out of Egypt. But we don’t know what has happened to him!’ ()
7:41 That was the time they made a statue to be their god. It looked like a calf. They brought sacrifices to it. They were glad because of what they had made with their own hands.
7:42 But God turned away from them. He left them to worship the sun, moon and stars. This agrees with what is written in the book of the prophets. There it says,
“‘People of Israel, did you bring me sacrifices and offerings
for 40 years in the desert?
7:43 You lifted up the place where Molech was worshiped.
You lifted up the star of your god Rephan.
You made statues of them to worship.
So I will send you away from your country.’ ()
God sent them to Babylon and even farther.
