Exodus 34:1- 34:9

34:1 Yahweh’s Description of Himself And Yahweh said to Moses, “Cut for yourself two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

34:2 And be ready for the morning, and go up in the morning to Mount Sinai and present yourself to me there on the top of the mountain.

34:3 And no one will go up with you, and neither let anyone be seen on all the mountain, nor let the sheep and goats and the cattle graze opposite that mountain.”

34:4 And Moses cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and he started early in the morning, and he went up to Mount Sinai, as Yahweh had commanded him, and he took in his hand the two stone tablets.

34:5 And Yahweh descended in the cloud, and he stood with him there, and he proclaimed the name of Yahweh.

34:6 And Yahweh passed over before him, and he proclaimed, “Yahweh, Yahweh, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness,

34:7 keeping loyal love to the thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and he does not leave utterly unpunished, punishing the guilt of fathers on sons and on sons of sons on third and fourth generations.”

34:8 And Moses hurried and knelt down to the earth and worshiped.

34:9 And he said, “Please, if I have found favor in your eyes, Lord, let my Lord, please, go among us—indeed it is a stiff-necked people—and forgive our iniquity and our sin and take us as your possession.”

34:1 The New Stone Tablets The Lord said to Moses, “Cut out two stone tablets that are just like the first ones. I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

34:2 “Be ready in the morning. Then come up on Mount Sinai. Meet with me there on top of the mountain.

34:3 No one must come with you. No one must be seen anywhere on the mountain. Not even the flocks and herds must be allowed to eat grass in front of the mountain.”

34:4 So Moses carved out two stone tablets that were just like the first ones. Early in the morning he went up Mount Sinai. He carried the two tablets in his hands. He did as the Lord had commanded him to do.

34:5 Then the Lord came down in the cloud. He stood there with Moses and announced his name, The Lord.

34:6 As he passed in front of Moses, he called out. He said, “I am the Lord, the Lord. I am a God who is tender and kind. I am gracious. I am slow to get angry. I am faithful and full of love.

34:7 I continue to show my love to thousands of people. I forgive those who do evil. I forgive those who refuse to obey. And I forgive those who sin. But I do not let guilty people go without punishing them. I punish the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the sin of their parents.”

34:8 Moses bowed down to the ground at once and worshiped.

34:9 “Lord,” he said, “if you are pleased with me, then go with us. Even though these people are stubborn, forgive the evil things we have done. Forgive our sin. And accept us as your people.”

34:1 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר vai.Yo.mer and/ he said יְהוָה֙ Yah.weh Yahweh אֶל־ 'el- to מֹשֶׁ֔ה mo.Sheh Moses פְּסָל־ pe.sol- cut out לְךָ֛ le.Kha for <the>/ yourself שְׁנֵֽי־ she.nei- two לֻחֹ֥ת lu.Chot tablets of אֲבָנִ֖ים 'a.va.Nim stone<s> כָּרִאשֹׁנִ֑ים ka.ri.sho.Nim like the/ former [tablets] וְכָתַבְתִּי֙ ve.kha.tav.Ti and/ I will write עַל־ 'al- on הַלֻּחֹ֔ת ha.lu.Chot the/ tablets אֶת־ 'et- <obj.> הַדְּבָרִ֔ים ha.de.va.Rim the/ words אֲשֶׁ֥ר 'a.Sher which הָי֛וּ ha.Yu they were עַל־ 'al- on הַלֻּחֹ֥ת ha.lu.Chot the/ tablets הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים ha.ri.sho.Nim the/ former אֲשֶׁ֥ר 'a.Sher which שִׁבַּֽרְתָּ׃ shi.Bar.ta you shattered

34:2 וֶהְיֵ֥ה veh.Yeh and/ be נָכ֖וֹן na.Khon prepared לַבֹּ֑קֶר la.Bo.ker to the/ morning וְעָלִ֤יתָ ve.'a.Li.ta and/ you will go up בַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ va.Bo.ker in the/ morning אֶל־ 'el- to הַ֣ר har [the] mountain of סִינַ֔י si.Nai Sinai וְנִצַּבְתָּ֥ ve.ni.tzav.Ta and/ you will station yourself לִ֛י li for <the>/ me שָׁ֖ם sham there עַל־ 'al- on רֹ֥אשׁ rosh [the] top of הָהָֽר׃ ha.Har the/ mountain

34:3 וְאִישׁ֙ ve.'Ish and/ anyone לֹֽא־ lo'- not יַעֲלֶ֣ה ya.'a.Leh he will go up עִמָּ֔ךְ 'i.Makh with/ you וְגַם־ ve.gam- and/ also אִ֥ישׁ 'ish anyone אַל־ 'al- may not יֵרָ֖א ye.Ra' he be seen בְּכָל־ be.khol on/ all הָהָ֑ר ha.Har the/ mountain גַּם־ gam- also הַצֹּ֤אן ha.Tzon the/ sheep וְהַבָּקָר֙ ve.ha.ba.Kar and/ the/ cattle אַל־ 'al- may not יִרְע֔וּ yir.'U they graze אֶל־ 'el- to מ֖וּל mul [the] front of הָהָ֥ר ha.Har the/ mountain הַהֽוּא׃ ha.Hu' <the>/ that

34:4 וַיִּפְסֹ֡ל vai.yif.Sol and/ he cut out שְׁנֵֽי־ she.nei- two לֻחֹ֨ת lu.Chot tablets of אֲבָנִ֜ים 'a.va.Nim stone<s> כָּרִאשֹׁנִ֗ים ka.ri.sho.Nim like the/ former [tablets] וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨ם vai.yash.Kem and/ he rose early מֹשֶׁ֤ה mo.Sheh Moses בַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ va.Bo.ker in the/ morning וַיַּ֙עַל֙ vai.Ya.'al and/ he went up אֶל־ 'el- to הַ֣ר har [the] mountain of סִינַ֔י si.Nai Sinai כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר ka.'a.Sher just/ as צִוָּ֥ה tzi.Vah he had commanded יְהוָ֖ה Yah.weh Yahweh אֹת֑וֹ 'o.To <obj.>/ him וַיִּקַּ֣ח vai.yi.Kach and/ he took בְּיָד֔וֹ be.ya.Do in/ hand/ his שְׁנֵ֖י she.Nei two לֻחֹ֥ת lu.Chot tablets of אֲבָנִֽים׃ 'a.va.Nim stone<s>

34:5 וַיֵּ֤רֶד vai.Ye.red and/ he came down יְהוָה֙ Yah.weh Yahweh בֶּֽעָנָ֔ן be.'a.Nan in the/ cloud וַיִּתְיַצֵּ֥ב vai.yit.ya.Tzev and/ he stood עִמּ֖וֹ i.Mo with/ him שָׁ֑ם Sham there וַיִּקְרָ֥א vai.yik.Ra' and/ he proclaimed בְשֵׁ֖ם ve.Shem <in>/ [the] name of יְהוָֽה׃ Yah.weh Yahweh

34:6 וַיַּעֲבֹ֨ר vai.ya.'a.Vor and/ he passed by יְהוָ֥ה׀ Yah.weh Yahweh עַל־ 'al- on פָּנָיו֮ pa.Nav face/ his וַיִּקְרָא֒ vai.yik.Ra' and/ he proclaimed יְהוָ֣ה׀ Yah.weh Yahweh יְהוָ֔ה Yah.weh Yahweh אֵ֥ל 'el a God רַח֖וּם ra.Chum compassionate וְחַנּ֑וּן ve.cha.Nun and/ gracious אֶ֥רֶךְ 'E.rekh long of אַפַּ֖יִם 'a.Pa.yim anger<s> וְרַב־ ve.rav- and/ great of חֶ֥סֶד Che.sed covenant loyalty וֶאֱמֶֽת׀ ve.'e.Met and/ faithfulness

34:7 נֹצֵ֥ר no.Tzer maintaining חֶ֙סֶד֙ che.sed covenant loyalty לָאֲלָפִ֔ים la.'a.la.Fim to <the>/ thousands נֹשֵׂ֥א no.Se' forgiving עָוֹ֛ן 'a.Von iniquity וָפֶ֖שַׁע va.Fe.sha' and/ transgression וְחַטָּאָ֑ה ve.cha.ta.'Ah and/ sin וְנַקֵּה֙ ve.na.Keh and/ certainly <to leave unpunished> לֹ֣א lo' not יְנַקֶּ֔ה ye.na.Keh he leaves unpunished פֹּקֵ֣ד׀ po.Ked visiting עֲוֹ֣ן 'a.Von [the] iniquity of אָב֗וֹת 'a.Vot parents עַל־ 'al- on בָּנִים֙ ba.Nim [the] children וְעַל־ ve.'al- and/ on בְּנֵ֣י be.Nei [the] children of בָנִ֔ים va.Nim children עַל־ 'al- on שִׁלֵּשִׁ֖ים shi.le.Shim a third generation וְעַל־ ve.'al- and/ on רִבֵּעִֽים׃ ri.be.'Im a fourth generation

34:8 וַיְמַהֵ֖ר vay.ma.Her and/ he hurried מֹשֶׁ֑ה mo.Sheh Moses וַיִּקֹּ֥ד vai.yi.Kod and/ he bowed low אַ֖רְצָה 'Ar.tzah [the] ground/ towards וַיִּשְׁתָּֽחוּ׃ vai.yish.Ta.chu and/ he bowed down

34:9 וַיֹּ֡אמֶר vai.Yo.mer and/ he said אִם־ 'im- if נָא֩ na' please מָצָ֨אתִי ma.Tza.ti I have found חֵ֤ן chen favor בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ be.'ei.Nei.kha in/ view/ your אֲדֹנָ֔י 'a.do.Nai O Lord יֵֽלֶךְ־ ye.lekh- let him go נָ֥א na' please אֲדֹנָ֖י 'a.do.Nai [the] Lord בְּקִרְבֵּ֑נוּ be.kir.Be.nu in/ midst/ our כִּ֤י ki for עַם־ 'am- [is] a people קְשֵׁה־ ke.sheh- stiff of עֹ֙רֶף֙ 'o.ref neck ה֔וּא Hu' it וְסָלַחְתָּ֛ ve.sa.lach.Ta and/ you will forgive לַעֲוֹנֵ֥נוּ la.'a.vo.Ne.nu <to>/ iniquity/ our וּלְחַטָּאתֵ֖נוּ u.le.cha.ta.Te.nu and/ <to>/ sin/ our וּנְחַלְתָּֽנוּ׃ u.ne.chal.Ta.nu and/ you will take as a possession/ us

14:27 Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, because it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered.’

14:28 But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”

14:29 But Peter said to him, “Even if they all fall away, certainly I will not!”

14:30 And Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you that today—this night—before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times!”

14:31 But he kept saying emphatically, “If it is necessary for me to die with you, I will never deny you!” And they all were saying the same thing also.

Mark 14:27 - 14:31

14:27 Καὶ And λέγει says αὐτοῖς to them ὁ <the> Ἰησοῦς Jesus ὅτι that πάντες All σκανδαλισθήσεσθε you will fall away ἐν ˍˍin ἐμοὶ ˍˍto me myself ἐν ˍˍin τῇ ˍˍ<the> νυκτὶ ˍˍnight ταύτῃ, ˍˍthis ὅτι for γέγραπται· it has been written: πατάξω I will strike τὸν the ποιμένα, shepherd, καὶ and τὰ the πρόβατα sheep διασκορπισθήσονται. will be scattered.’

14:28 ἀλλὰ But μετὰ after τὸ <the> ἐγερθῆναί to rise με me προάξω I will go before ὑμᾶς you εἰς into τὴν <the> Γαλιλαίαν. Galilee.

14:29 ὁ <the> δὲ And Πέτρος Peter ἔφη was saying αὐτῷ· to Him; εἰ If καὶ even πάντες all σκανδαλισθήσονται will fall away ἀλλ᾽ yet οὐκ not ἐγώ.¶ I myself.

14:30 Καὶ And λέγει says αὐτῷ to him ὁ <the> Ἰησοῦς· Jesus; ἀμὴν Amen λέγω I say σοι to you ὅτι that σὺ ₊yourself σήμερον now ταύτῃ this ἐν ˍin τῇ <the> νυκτὶ night πρὶν before ἢ than δὶς twice ἀλέκτορα [the] rooster φωνῆσαι crowing τρίς three times με Me ἀπαρνήσῃ. you will deny.

14:31 ὁ <the> δὲ And ἐκπερισσῶς overexceedingly ἐλάλει he was saying μᾶλλον· ˍˍmore: ἐὰν If δέῃ it shall be needful με to me συναποθανεῖν to die with σοι, You, οὐ certainly μή not σε You ἀπαρνήσομαι. I will deny. ὡσαύτως Likewise δὲ now καὶ also πάντες all ἔλεγον.¶ of them were saying.
