Numbers 22:13 - 22:20
22:13 Balaam got up in the morning, and he said to the princes of Balak, “Go to your land, because Yahweh refused to allow me to go with you.”
22:14 The princes of Moab got up and went to Balak, and they said, “Balaam refused to come with us.”
22:15 Balak again sent many princes, who were more honored than the former.
22:16 They came to Balaam and said to him, “Thus says Balak son of Zippor, ‘Please, let nothing keep you from coming to me
22:17 because I will surely honor you greatly, and all that you say to me I will do. Please, come; curse this people for me.’”
22:18 Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, “Even though Balak gives to me his house full of silver and gold, I am not able to go beyond the command of Yahweh my God to do a little or a lot.
22:19 And now please, you also stay here the night, and let me find out again what Yahweh will say with me.”
22:20 And God came to Balaam at night, and he said to him, “If the men have come to call you, get up and go with them; but only the word that I will speak to you, you will do.”
NIRV translation
Numbers 22:13 - 22:20
22:13 The next morning Balaam got up. He said to Balak’s princes, “Go back to your own country. The Lord won’t let me go with you.”
22:14 So the princes of Moab returned to Balak. They said, “Balaam wouldn’t come with us.”
22:15 Then Balak sent other princes. They were more important than the first ones. And there were more of them.
22:16 They came to Balaam. They said,
“Balak, the son of Zippor, says, ‘Don’t let anything keep you from coming to me.
22:17 I’ll make you very rich. I’ll do anything you say. Come. Put a curse on those people for me.’”
22:18 But Balaam gave them his answer. He said, “Balak could give me his palace filled with silver and gold. Even then, I still couldn’t do anything at all that goes beyond what the Lord my God commands.
22:19 Stay here tonight, just as the others did. I’ll find out what else the Lord will tell me.”
22:20 That night God came to Balaam. He said, “These men have come to get you. So go with them. But do only what I tell you to do.”

Gospel — Luke 21:1-4
LEB translation
Luke 21:1-4
21:1 A Poor Widow’s Offering
And he looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the contribution box,
21:2 and he saw a certain poor widow putting in there two small copper coins.
21:3 And he said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow put in more than all of them.
21:4 For these all put gifts into the offering out of their abundance, but this woman out of her poverty put in all the means of subsistence that she had.”
NIRV translation
Luke 21:1-4
21:1 The Widow’s Offering
As Jesus looked up, he saw rich people putting their gifts into the temple offering boxes.
21:2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.
21:3 “What I’m about to tell you is true,” Jesus said. “That poor widow has put in more than all the others.
21:4 All of those other people gave a lot because they are rich. But even though she is poor, she put in everything. She had nothing left to live on.”
