Exodus 39:2 - 39:21
39:2 And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple and crimson yarns, and finely twisted linen.
39:3 And he hammered out the leaves of gold, and he cut off cords to weave in the midst of the blue and in the midst of the purple and in the midst of the crimson and in the midst of the linen—the work of a skilled craftsman.
39:4 They made joined shoulder pieces for it; it was joined on its two edges.
39:5 And the waistband of his ephod, which was of one piece with it, was of like work, gold, blue, and purple and crimson yarns, and finely twisted linen, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
39:6 And they made onyx stones mounted in gold filigree settings, engraved with seal engravings according to the names of the Israelites.
39:7 And he set them on the ephod’s shoulder pieces as stones of remembrance for the Israelites, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
39:8 And he made the breast piece, the work of a skilled craftsman, like the work of the ephod, of gold, blue, and purple and crimson yarns, and finely twisted linen.
39:9 It was squared; they made the breast piece doubled; its length was a span, and its width was a span when doubled.
39:10 And they filled it with four rows of stone; a row of carnelian, topaz, and emerald was the first row;
39:11 and the second row was a malachite, a sapphire, and a moonstone;
39:12 and the third row was a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;
39:13 and the fourth row was a turquoise, an onyx, and a jasper. They were set with gold filigree settings in their mountings.
39:14 And the stones were according to the names of the Israelites; they were twelve according to their names, with seal engravings, each according to its name for the twelve tribes.
39:15 And they made on the breast piece braided chains, a work of pure gold ornamental cord.
39:16 And they made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and they put the two rings on the two edges of the breast piece.
39:17 And they put the two gold ornamental cords on the two rings on the edges of the breast piece.
39:18 And they put the two ends of the two ornamental cords on the two filigree settings, and they put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front of it.
39:19 And they made two gold rings, and they placed them on the two edges of the breast piece, on its lip that is on the other side of the ephod, to the inside.
39:20 And they made two gold rings and put them on the ephod’s two shoulder pieces below, at its front near its seam above the waistband of the ephod.
39:21 And they tied the breast piece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord so that the breast piece would be on the waistband of the ephod and not come loose from the ephod, as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
NIRV translation
Exodus 39:2 - 39:21
39:2 The Linen Apron
The workers made the linen apron out of fine gold wire, and out of blue, purple and bright red yarn, and out of finely twisted linen.
39:3 They hammered out thin sheets of gold. They cut it into fine wire. They sewed it into the blue, purple and bright red yarn and fine linen. A skilled worker made it.
39:4 The workers made shoulder straps for the apron. The straps were joined to two of its corners.
39:5 Its skillfully made waistband was made like it. The waistband was part of the apron itself. It was made out of fine gold wire, and out of blue, purple and bright red yarn, and out of finely twisted linen. The workers made it just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
39:6 They put the onyx stones in fancy gold settings. They carved the names of the sons of Israel on them. They did it the way a person carves a seal.
39:7 Then they connected them to the shoulder straps of the linen apron. The stones stood for the sons of Israel and were a reminder for them. The workers did those things just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
39:8 The Chest Cloth
Skilled workers made the chest cloth. They made it like the linen apron. They used fine gold wire, and blue, purple and bright red yarn, and finely twisted linen.
39:9 The chest cloth was nine inches square. It was folded in half.
39:10 They put four rows of valuable jewels on it. A ruby, a topaz and a beryl were in the first row.
39:11 A turquoise, a sapphire and an emerald were in the second row.
39:12 A jacinth, an agate and an amethyst were in the third row.
39:13 And a chrysolite, an onyx and a jasper were in the fourth row. The workers put them in fancy gold settings.
39:14 They used a total of 12 stones. There was one stone for each of the names of the sons of Israel. Each stone was carved like a seal with the name of one of the 12 tribes.
39:15 The workers made braided chains out of pure gold for the chest cloth. They made them like ropes.
39:16 They made two fancy gold settings and two gold rings. They connected them to two corners of the chest cloth.
39:17 They joined the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the chest cloth.
39:18 They joined the other ends of the chains to the two settings. They joined them to the shoulder straps on the front of the linen apron.
39:19 The workers made two gold rings. They connected them to the other two corners of the chest cloth. They put them on the inside edge next to the apron.
39:20 They made two more gold rings. They connected them to the bottom of the shoulder straps on the front of the apron. They put them close to the seam right above the waistband of the apron.
39:21 They tied the rings of the chest cloth to the rings of the apron with blue cord. That connected it to the waistband. Then the chest cloth would not swing out from the linen apron. The workers did those things just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Gospel — Mark 15:22 - 15:39
LEB translation
Mark 15:22 - 15:39
15:22 And they brought him to the place Golgotha (which is translated “Place of a Skull”).
15:23 And they attempted to give him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it.
15:24 And they crucified him and divided his clothes among themselves by casting lots for them to see who should take what.
15:25 Now it was the third hour when they crucified him.
15:26 And the inscription of the charge against him was written, “The king of the Jews.”
15:27 And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on his left.
15:28 Verse text not available.
15:29 And those who passed by reviled him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! The one who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,
15:30 save yourself by coming down from the cross!”
15:31 In the same way also the chief priests, along with the scribes, were mocking him to one another, saying, “He saved others; he is not able to save himself!
15:32 Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe! Even those who were crucified with him were reviling him.
15:33 Jesus Dies on the Cross
And when the sixth hour came, darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour.
15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which is translated, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)
15:35 And some of the bystanders, when they heard it, said, “Behold, he is summoning Elijah!”
15:36 And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Leave him alone! Let us see if Elijah is coming to take him down.”
15:37 But Jesus uttered a loud cry and expired.
15:38 And the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
15:39 And when the centurion who was standing opposite him saw that he expired like this, he said, “Truly this man was God’s Son!”
NIRV translation
Mark 15:22 - 15:39
15:22 They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha. The word Golgotha means The Place of the Skull.
15:23 Then they gave him wine mixed with spices. But he did not take it.
15:24 They nailed him to the cross. Then they divided up his clothes. They cast lots to see what each of them would get.
15:25 It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him.
15:26 They wrote out the charge against him. It read, the king of the jews.
15:27 They crucified two robbers with him. One was on his right and one was on his left.
15:28 Verse text not available.
15:29 Those who passed by shouted at Jesus and made fun of him. They shook their heads and said, “So you are going to destroy the temple and build it again in three days?
15:30 Then come down from the cross! Save yourself!”
15:31 In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law made fun of him among themselves. “He saved others,” they said. “But he can’t save himself!
15:32 Let this Christ, this King of Israel, come down now from the cross! When we see that, we will believe.”
Those who were being crucified with Jesus also made fun of him.
15:33 Jesus Dies
At noon, darkness covered the whole land. It lasted three hours.
15:34 At three o’clock Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” This means “My God, my God, why have you deserted me?” ()
15:35 Some of those standing nearby heard Jesus cry out. They said, “Listen! He’s calling for Elijah.”
15:36 One of them ran and filled a sponge with wine vinegar. He put it on a stick. He offered it to Jesus to drink. “Leave him alone,” he said. “Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down.”
15:37 With a loud cry, Jesus took his last breath.
15:38 The temple curtain was torn in two from top to bottom.
15:39 A Roman commander was standing there in front of Jesus. He heard his cry and saw how Jesus died. Then he said, “This man was surely the Son of God!”
