1:20 The descendants of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, their genealogies according to their clans, according to their families, according to the number of names, every male individually from twenty years old and above, everyone who is able to go to war:

1:21 those who were counted from the tribe of Reuben were forty-six thousand five hundred.

1:22 From the descendants of Simeon, their genealogies according to their clans, according to their families, those who were counted according to the number of their names, every individual male from twenty years old and above, everyone who is able to go to war:

1:23 those who were counted from the tribe of Simeon were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

1:24 From the descendants of Gad, their genealogies according to their clans, according to their families, according to the number of names, from those twenty years old and above, everyone who is able to go to war:

1:25 those who were counted from the tribe of Gad were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

1:26 From the descendants of Judah, their genealogies according to their clans, according to their families, according to the number of names, from those twenty years old and above, everyone who is able to go to war:

1:27 those who were counted from the tribe of Judah were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

1:41 those who were counted from the tribe of Asher were forty-one thousand five hundred.

1:43 those who were counted from the tribe of Naphtali were fifty-three thousand four hundred.

1:44 These are the ones counted whom Moses and Aaron mustered, with the twelve leaders of Israel, each one from his family.

1:45 So all those who were counted from the Israelites according to their families, from those twenty years old and above, everyone in Israel who is able to go to war.

1:46 All of the ones counted were six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty.

Luke 1:26-38

1:26 The Prediction of Jesus’ Birth Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee named Nazareth,

1:27 to a virgin legally promised in marriage to a man named Joseph of the house of David. And the name of the virgin was Mary.

1:28 And he came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”

1:29 But she was greatly perplexed at the statement, and was pondering what sort of greeting this might be.

1:30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

1:31 And behold, you will conceive in the womb and will give birth to a son, and you will call his name Jesus.

1:32 This one will be great, and he will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.

1:33 And he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.

1:34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man?”

1:35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the one to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.

1:36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth—she also has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren.

1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”

1:38 So Mary said, “Behold, the Lord’s female slave! May it happen to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Luke 1:26-38

1:26 The Coming Birth of Jesus In the sixth month after Elizabeth had become pregnant, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee.

1:27 He was sent to a virgin. The girl was engaged to a man named Joseph. He came from the family line of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.

1:28 The angel greeted her and said, “The Lord has given you special favor. He is with you.”

1:29 Mary was very upset because of his words. She wondered what kind of greeting this could be.

1:30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary. God is very pleased with you.

1:31 You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must name him Jesus.

1:32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king like his father David of long ago.

1:33 He will rule forever over his people, who came from Jacob’s family. His kingdom will never end.”

1:34 “How can this happen?” Mary asked the angel. “I am a virgin.”

1:35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come to you. The power of the Most High God will cover you. So the holy one that is born will be called the Son of God.

1:36 Your relative Elizabeth is old. And even she is going to have a child. People thought she could not have children. But she has been pregnant for six months now.

1:37 Nothing is impossible with God.”

1:38 “I serve the Lord,” Mary answered. “May it happen to me just as you said it would.” Then the angel left her.

1:30 καὶ And εἶπεν said ὁ the ἄγγελος angel αὐτῇ· to her; μὴ Not φοβοῦ do fear Μαριάμ, Mary, εὗρες you have found γὰρ for χάριν favor παρὰ with τῷ <the> θεῷ. God.

1:31 καὶ and ἰδοὺ behold συλλήμψῃ you will conceive ἐν in γαστρὶ womb καὶ and τέξῃ will bring forth υἱὸν a son καὶ and καλέσεις you will call τὸ the ὄνομα name αὐτοῦ of Him Ἰησοῦν. Jesus.

1:32 οὗτος He ἔσται will be μέγας great καὶ and υἱὸς Son ὑψίστου of [the] Most High κληθήσεται, He will be called, καὶ and δώσει will give αὐτῷ to Him κύριος [the] Lord ὁ <the> θεὸς God τὸν the θρόνον throne Δαυὶδ of David τοῦ of the πατρὸς father αὐτοῦ, of Him,

1:34 Εἶπεν Said δὲ then Μαριὰμ Mary πρὸς to τὸν the ἄγγελον· angel; πῶς How ἔσται will be τοῦτο this ἐπεὶ since ἄνδρα a man οὐ not γινώσκω;¶ I know?

1:35 Καὶ And ἀποκριθεὶς answering ὁ the ἄγγελος angel εἶπεν said αὐτῇ· to her; πνεῦμα [the] Spirit ἅγιον Holy ἐπελεύσεται will come ἐπὶ upon σὲ you καὶ and δύναμις power ὑψίστου of [the] Most High ἐπισκιάσει will overshadow σοι· you; διὸ therefore καὶ also τὸ the [one] γεννώμενον being born ἅγιον Holy [One] κληθήσεται will be called υἱὸς [the] Son θεοῦ. of God.
