Exodus 14:26 - 15:26
14:26 And Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, and let the waters return over the Egyptians, over their chariots, and over their charioteers.”
14:27 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned at daybreak to its normal level, and the Egyptians were fleeing because of it, and Yahweh swept the Egyptians into the middle of the sea.
14:28 And the waters returned and covered the chariots and the charioteers—all the army of Pharaoh coming after them into the sea. Not even one survived among them.
14:29 But the Israelites walked on the dry land in the middle of the sea. The waters were a wall for them on their right and on their left.
14:30 And Yahweh saved Israel on that day from the hand of Egypt, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the shore of the sea.
14:31 And Israel saw the great hand that Yahweh displayed against Egypt, and the people feared Yahweh, and they believed in Yahweh and in Moses his servant.
15:1 Song of Victory at the Sea
Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to Yahweh, and they said,
“Let me sing to Yahweh because he is highly exalted;
the horse and its rider he hurled into the sea.
15:2 Yah is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation;
this is my God, and I will praise him—the God of my father—and I will exalt him.
15:3 Yahweh is a man of war; Yahweh is his name.
15:4 The chariots of Pharaoh and his army he cast into the sea,
and his choice adjutants were sunk in the Red Sea.
15:5 The deep waters covered them;
they went down into the depths like a stone.
15:6 Yahweh, your right hand is glorious in power;
Yahweh, your right hand destroyed the enemy.
15:7 And in the greatness of your majesty you overthrew those standing up to you;
you released your fierce anger, and it consumed them like stubble.
15:8 And by the breath of your nostrils waters were piled up;
waves stood like a heap;
deep waters in the middle of the sea congealed.
15:9 The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide plunder,
my desire will be full of them, I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’
15:10 You blew with your breath; the sea covered them;
they dropped like lead in the mighty waters.
15:11 Who is like you among the gods, Yahweh?
Who is like you—glorious in holiness, awesome in praiseworthy actions, doing wonders?
15:12 You stretched out your right hand;
the earth swallowed them.
15:13 In your loyal love you led the people whom you redeemed;
in your strength you guided them to the abode of your holiness.
15:14 Peoples heard; they trembled;
anguish seized the inhabitants of Philistia.
15:15 Then the chiefs of Edom were horrified; great distress seized the leaders of Moab;
all of the inhabitants of Canaan melted away.
15:16 Terror and dread fell on them;
at the greatness of your arm they became silent like the stone,
until your people passed by, Yahweh,
until the people whom you bought passed by.
15:17 You brought them and planted them on the mountain of your inheritance,
a place you made for yourself to inhabit, Yahweh,
a sanctuary, Lord, that your hands established.
15:18 Yahweh will reign as king forever and ever.”
15:19 When the horses of Pharaoh came into the sea with his chariots and with his charioteers, Yahweh brought back upon them the waters of the sea, and the Israelites traveled on dry ground through the middle of the sea.
15:20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took her tambourine in her hand, and all of the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.
15:21 And Miriam answered, “Sing to Yahweh because he is highly exalted; the horse and its rider he hurled into the sea.”
15:22 Yahweh Provides Water at Marah
And Moses caused Israel to set out from the Red Sea, and they went out into the desert of Shur, and they traveled three days in the desert, and they did not find water.
15:23 And they came to Marah, and they were not able to drink water from Marah because it was bitter. Therefore it was named Marah.
15:24 And the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”
15:25 And he cried out to Yahweh, and Yahweh showed him a piece of wood, and he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. There he made a rule and regulation for them, and there he tested them.
15:26 And he said, “If you carefully listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and you do what is right in his eyes and give heed to his commands and you keep all his rules, then I will not bring about on you any of the diseases that I brought about on Egypt, because I am Yahweh your healer.
NIRV translation
Exodus 14:26 - 15:26
14:26 Then the Lord spoke to Moses. He said, “Reach your hand out over the sea. The waters will flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.”
14:27 So Moses reached his hand out over the sea. At sunrise the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians tried to run away from the sea. But the Lord swept them into it.
14:28 The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen. It covered the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the people of Israel into the sea. Not one of the Egyptians was left.
14:29 But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground. There was a wall of water on their right side and on their left.
14:30 That day the Lord saved Israel from the power of Egypt. Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore.
14:31 The Israelites saw the great power the Lord showed against the Egyptians. So they had respect for the Lord. They put their trust in him and in his servant Moses.
15:1 The Song of Moses and Miriam
Here is the song that Moses and the people of Israel sang to the Lord. They said,
“I will sing to the Lord.
He is greatly honored.
He has thrown Pharaoh’s horses and their riders
into the Red Sea.
15:2 The Lord gives me strength. I sing about him.
He has saved me.
He is my God. I will praise him.
He is my father’s God. I will honor him.
15:3 The Lord goes into battle.
The Lord is his name.
15:4 He has thrown Pharaoh’s chariots and army
into the Red Sea.
Pharaoh’s best officers
drowned in the sea.
15:5 The deep waters covered them.
They sank to the bottom like a stone.
15:6 “Lord, your right hand
was majestic and powerful.
Lord, your right hand
destroyed your enemies.
15:7 Because of your great majesty,
you threw down those who opposed you.
Your burning anger blazed out.
It burned them up like straw.
15:8 The powerful blast from your nose
piled up the waters.
The rushing waters stood firm like a wall.
The deep waters stood up in the middle of the sea.
15:9 “Your enemies bragged,
‘We will chase Israel. We will catch them.
We’ll divide up what we take from them.
We’ll eat them alive.
We’ll pull our swords out.
Our powerful hands will destroy them.’
15:10 But you blew with your breath.
The Red Sea covered your enemies.
They sank like lead
in the mighty waters.
15:11 “Lord, who among the gods is like you?
Who is like you?
You are majestic and holy.
Your glory fills me with wonder.
You do wonderful miracles.
15:12 You reached out your right hand.
The earth swallowed up the Egyptians.
15:13 “Because your love is faithful,
you will lead the people you have set free.
Because you are so strong,
you will guide them to the holy place where you live.
15:14 The nations will hear about it and tremble.
Pain and suffering will take hold of the Philistines.
15:15 The chiefs of Edom will be terrified.
The leaders of Moab will tremble with fear.
The people of Canaan will melt away.
15:16 Fear and terror will fall on them.
Your powerful arm
will make them as still as a stone.
Then your people will pass by, Lord.
Then the people you created will pass by.
15:17 You will bring them in.
You will plant them on the mountain you gave them.
Lord, you have made that place your home.
Lord, your hands have made your holy place secure.
15:18 “The Lord will rule
for ever and ever.”
15:19 Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen went into the Red Sea. The Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them. But the people of Israel walked through the sea on dry ground.
15:20 Aaron’s sister Miriam was a prophet. She took a tambourine in her hand. All the women followed her. They played tambourines and danced.
15:21 Miriam sang to them,
“Sing to the Lord.
He is greatly honored.
He has thrown Pharaoh’s horses and their riders
into the Red Sea.”
15:22 At the Waters of Marah and Elim
Then Moses led Israel away from the Red Sea. They went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert. They didn’t find any water there.
15:23 When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink its water. It was bitter. That’s why the place is named Marah.
15:24 The people told Moses they weren’t happy with him. They said, “What are we supposed to drink?”
15:25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord. The Lord showed him a stick. Moses threw it into the water. The water became sweet.
There the Lord made a rule and a law for the people. And there he put them to the test.
15:26 He said, “I am the Lord your God. Listen carefully to my voice. Do what is right in my eyes. Pay attention to my commands. Obey all of my rules. If you do, I will not send on you any of the sicknesses I sent on the Egyptians. I am the Lord who heals you.”

Gospel — Mark 6:7 - 6:13
LEB translation
Mark 6:7 - 6:13
6:7 And he summoned the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
6:8 And he commanded them that they take along nothing for the journey except only a staff—no bread, no traveler’s bag, no money in their belts—
6:9 but to put on sandals and not to wear two tunics.
6:10 And he said to them, “Whenever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.
6:11 And whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake off the dust that is on your feet for a testimony against them.”
6:12 And they went out and proclaimed that people should repent.
6:13 And they were expelling many demons and anointing many sick people with olive oil and healing them.
NIRV translation
Mark 6:7 - 6:13
6:7 He called the Twelve to him. Then he sent them out two by two. He gave them authority to drive out evil spirits.
6:8 Here were his orders. “Take only a walking stick for your trip. Do not take bread or a bag. Take no money in your belts.
6:9 Wear sandals. But do not take extra clothes.
6:10 When you are invited into a house, stay there until you leave town.
6:11 Some places may not welcome you or listen to you. If they don’t, shake the dust off your feet when you leave. That will be a witness against the people living there.”
6:12 They went out. And they preached that people should turn away from their sins.
6:13 They drove out many demons. They poured olive oil on many sick people and healed them.
